Turtle WoW - Mysteries of Azeroth

I joined turtle wow close to ~2 years ago. I've leveled a warlock to 60, raided, and now am leveling a warrior. What's keeping me playing is the community, the new gameplay features, and the friendliness of the staff. I'd recommend anyone who is interested in playing vanilla for the first time to join. There's cross faction features, tent parties (accelerated rested xp), hardcore mode that grants rewards every 10 levels, new quests, and now a gardening feature!

5/5 would recommend for players that want to level, turtle style!

For those who like PVE with new quest and boss but without forgetting the PVP. With some features of the old wow vanilla that have been removed. And much more to come ...

This is a great vanilla WoW server I have played on! The community is so friendly and bugs are so minimal!

I've been looking for a PvE Vanilla WoW server for a while and Turtle WoW was one of the few options around. At first it had x0.5 XP rates, which made leveling nigh-impossible so I gave up at around level 5. Recently I was looking to play Vanilla WoW again after I was disappointed with Classic and went to check on Turtle WoW again only to find out that they have changed to x1 XP rates, which for me was the green light to pick up my long abandoned level 5 character and start playing for real.

What I found is that they have added even more server-specific content, like new NPCs, quests, buildings, events, skills, features and whatnot. When I was hyped for Blizzard's Classic WoW, I was hoping that after they exhaust the last bit of content with Naxxramas, they will start developing brand new content, but instead they started teasing TBC. And here is Turtle WoW doing the exact thing I was wishing for - brand new content for Vanilla by further expanding the game with conventional means and giving brand new life to Vanilla and more reason to play on this server.

If anyone wants to play Vanilla, but isn't looking for the same old, same old experience, but a more relaxing and different approach, this is the place to be. So far the only issue is the small playerbase, but hopefully more people will start noticing this server.

friendly community, custom quests and content that fits perfectly in the style and lore of vanilla and an upcoming expansio which doesnt increase the lvlv cap and keeps all the vanilla zones relevant... what else do you need?!

the title say it all! Vanilla+ PVE server with well made custom content und friendly community. I left classic wow for this server and never looked back...

The GMS are friendly, the community is helpful, few trolls here and there but overall very good server, it deserves you to try it out and check their unique features :3

I'm not a huge fan of Vanilla honestly but I had to give this server a shot after hearing about it all over Reddit and multiple Discord servers. I got to tell you I'm glad that I did! First off the community is super friendly, especially for a Vanilla-noob like me. People were helping me the whole time, explaining me things and I even got a chance to join some "tent" parties hosted by some of the players! If you like Vanilla and don't mind some custom (quality of life) features, give this a shot! They also have 2 new exciting races coming up so keep an eye out for that!

Friendly community, nice custom quests and other content that is integrated in the lore of vanilla wow. That way you have the feeling of vanilla wow and more content! The pop is not big but is active and is going up. I recommend it for any pve wow classic player who likes the vanilla+ idea!

Huge difference from retail WoW where everything is rushed and soo competitive, without true involvement between people. Laid back atmosphere, polite and friendly players, bunch of funny, great features, helpful stuff that's reaching out to community, well scripted content... This is what I signed for!

The server is great, amazing player base community! 10/10! I wish events were handled better.

a real classic+ experience expanding on the lore and adding quality custom content that does not feel like a mod at all, just what the game should have been in an alternate universe where instead of tbc we got vanilla+ and sadly in our timeline blizzard took the wrong decisions back in the day, but hey, we have turtle wow !

So I gotta say this video is not full at all. I have played many servers and this one I have played for several mounths now so here is the honest feedback. The servers population ratios is more like 15-85 horde to alliance. The script is nice and there a lot of custom quests that help you level quickly unless you plan to play hard mode. There very good and friendly people that will help you out and that you can raid with , but there is a big BUT . The server has a lot of toxic players some of them are actually part of the staff. If you plan to PvP on horde side then get ready to lose weeks in a roll and to be gloated from the alliance and the staff which are biased towards the faction. The server has 0 class or faction balance, the paladin holy strike which is the the only ability added just for alliance deals 1k normal dmg on any player and crits for +150, it's totaly unbalanced for example a 58 lvl paladin will crit for 2k with green gear. Get used to play 2v1 or 2v2 matches and hope you get a single badge or an honorable kills. Also if you evade in WSG alliance players mainly GMs then you better get used to threats as well and feel free to abuse if you're alliance.
But of course there are some good people and I happy to know them and do content with them. The server is definetly horde player UNFRIENDLY, I got a message from one of the staff that states that all horde players are scum.
I do hope the staff gets their head right, but I think that's a long shot at best.

Anything that doesnt fit the established world view of this server, be it on discord or world chat is met with an absurd toxicity, if you dont want to join the community and just go out an play its a great server, but dont ask questions else you get ridiculed and jumped by multiple persons. i came here because i thought the community was nice, but i all got was rejection and arrogance, the GM's are toxic in world chat "sanctified" belittles people on a regular base and calls it banter, even if people say they dont like it.
the same attitude is met if you get in contact with "valrosh" the lore writer for the server who rejects any lore that doesnt fit his world view and bends the existing lore to his interpretation, if you critzize or question this behaviour your met with fiercy followers who would do anything to make you look bad and if so constantly brings it up to discredit anything you say, making memes and openly jokes about you.

TLDR, play the game ignor the community and you get a decent wow, with no game breaking bugs.

Community is mostly 'Lore Fanatic' and will dismiss any critization/questions you have about the 'Custom Quests' by telling you that there is something wrong with you for not reading the 'Custom' made-up lore quests like a bookworm.

Also the leveling experience seems 'split' due to Players that create 'Hardcore' Characters.. These players will bait the normal Players into aggroing the mobs while they attack from safety.. basically leeching of regular players and using them like 'Meat-Shields'.
It also completely destroys the experience of engaging with difficult content (high risk - high reward) quests and due to that, it devides the Regular Players from the Hardcore Players.
They should seperate 'Hardcore Players' from 'Regular Players' by introducing seperate server for 'Hardcore Characters'.

Besides that, it's an alright Server that has potential to be great.

I joined server some mounths ago purely for HC mode and had my fun with it, even got to 52 recently with my druid. And I should say in technical art it's probably the best server ever. Bugs are mostly non existent, DCs are rare, alot of new content added work quite well. Lorewise added content is great too, evet wanted to know anything about burnt tavern on the border of the Dustwallow Marsh-you go girl, they added questline there and so on. So developers-you are great, thank you for some nostalgia with fresh notes.

Though all that gets ruined by ingame support and I guess by same people in Discord. Any word about GMs work-you get mute, any saasy joke-guess what, in best case scenario mute again. Some stupid name like Boobyboi-probably they ask you to rename character. Though you can see there all the funny names like Surovikin(seems going well with their rules and ruin the RP), IskanderZV and so on. Also some people not muted for same silly jokes so you never can tell when it's appropriate or not to have fun.

Guess you all understand how it's ended-I got banned silently and to know that I needed to wrote the letter to support. When I asked about why I can't recconect in Discord they just banned me lol after gave me support mail address. Also found someone with same silent ban problem on their forum and guess what-they advice to wrote them a letter to support mail address. So I can guess those ban made silently by same GM by his personal reasons.

So you want have fun playing Turtle WoW-disable chats, don't joke and never say anything about GMs work as chat moderator, they have zero tolerance to any discussion, they just ban you silently after several mutes. I am done with that server forever it seems, purely because of people like TinyFin. Sorry for bad english, not my native language.

Guild masters and GMs are brutal kids and you can try it with talking with any of them and they don't give a F in raids and they simply stole the loot from you and threaten you to don't tell anyone or speak of it in world chat or they will kick you out.
Discord or in game GMs will ban you if you talk anything reasonable against them.
The content of custom Dungs or Raids are just stupid as F and maybe for 7 year old kids and IMO they are sh*ting on WOWs lore with those custom stuff.
Community is kind and dumb at the same time and you won't find any good or pro player here.
Tbh if you like communism this is a heaven for you to be a degenerate As*hole.

Turtle WoW PvP experience is very poor, majority of server don't like it, so no active world pvp and only some AV per day at 60 where you see players fishing...
PvE content is great and the devs are very good to keep it fresh but the fact is the server was born in 2018, now lot of players are overstuff and just make some RP stuff, boosting others players or try hardcore mode wich is a terrible idea as it splits the community.

Actually, admins have no clue what is Classic WoW - they should run WotLK custom server, but not pre-tbc one. Just a cashgrab machine.

I have tried for 3 days to correct a problem with no luck. I'm unable to get any support to correct this issue. I've downloaded fresh loads at least 3 times. I've extracted files to C:\Turtle Wow folder. I logged in and created a character. Then when I go to enter the game it gives me, "Your game interface files are corrupt. Please remove your interface\FrameXML folder". There is no folder. I've deleted WTF and WBD folders. I've tried everything that's been posted in their forums but still no luck. I'm finally giving up and will try someone else...

Started out on this server when it was fresh, on Tel'Abim server. It amazingly full of people, until we realised that more than 60-70% percent of the population were either bots or chinesse.
What was even worse was the fact that GM's were messing with your gameplay, sometimes your character would even do actions on its own or attempt TO DELETE some of your equipped gear (for example, the character panel would open on its own and attempt to delete a rare trinket by typing DELETE).
